What is the International Year One?

The International Year One is an intensive two-semester programme delivered at the University of Sheffield International College. Upon successful completion of the International Year One, and achieving the required grades, you will enter the second year of your chosen undergraduate degree at the University of Sheffield.

Course content

This pathway programme includes academic subjects, study skills and English language preparation. Developed in collaboration with the University, and designed specifically for international students, you will study subject-specific modules that focus on the academic areas most useful to your chosen degree.

Degree progression

Your offer of entry will contain the grade you need to achieve on your International Year One. Once you complete the programme and achieve the required grades, you can enter the second year of your chosen undergraduate degree at the University.

University-style teaching

The University of Sheffield International College introduces you to the style of teaching that you will experience on your degree. Taking part in tutorials, seminar-style classes and larger group lectures means that you will be well prepared to join the second year of your chosen undergraduate degree at the University of Sheffield.
