The University of Sheffield International College provides dedicated programmes that prepare international students for the challenges of academic life. We are focused on helping students with English as a second language and different educational backgrounds go to the world-class University of Sheffield.
You will be learning with students from all over the world, studying a range of modules that have been developed in collaboration with the University. These will include specialist subject matter, English language, and study and career skills – everything you need to succeed.
Choose the undergraduate or postgraduate preparation programme and then select the relevant subject for you. Once you complete the programme and achieve the required grades, you can enter your chosen degree at the University of Sheffield.
Our pathway programmes help you make the transition between study in your home country and a degree at a UK university. At the International College, you will be able to begin your academic journey in a supportive and welcoming environment under the support of expert teachers. After choosing a programme which best matches your degree and career ambitions, you'll spend time developing your subject knowledge and English language skills in order to progress to your chosen degree programme at university.

The International Foundation Year will prepare you for a wide range of undergraduate degrees. In 1.5 or 2 semesters you will you will gain the academic skills, English language and study skills needed to succeed at the University of Sheffield.
The Pre-Masters is an intensive 1.5 or 2 semester programme. It includes specialist academic modules, skills development and English language classes that prepare you for the challenges of a taught masters degree at Sheffield.

When you join the International College, you will have already chosen one of the University of Sheffield’s undergraduate degrees or masters courses. Your International College curriculum will include modules tailored to your chosen subject.
Our programmes will help to develop your academic level in your chosen subject. This means that you will already have a good knowledge of your subject when you start your degree, ready to learn in more detail.
We’ll introduce you to the study skills that will be vital to success and help with language if you need it. Above all, we’ll give you the confidence you need to progress in your studies and in your chosen career.
You will study in small class sizes with teachers who are experts at helping students to learn in a second language. You'll learn through a combination of lectures, tutorials, interactive learning and independent study.
Teachers will constantly monitor your progress and help you to quickly build confidence in your chosen subject. They will help you to learn effective ways to study and develop your English language capability.
