Student accommodation in Sheffield

Many people find they meet lifelong friends when living in student accommodation. It is a part of student life and a big step in finding your independence after living at home. You can choose to stay in University-managed accommodation close to the International College, or arrange your own private accommodation.

Accommodation options

For students starting their programme during the 2021/22 academic year and decide to travel to the UK, we have accommodation available at St Vincent's Place.

Please note: all under 18s are offered University managed residences.

Once you are enrolled on your course, our Central Student Support Team will contact you with more information about the accommodation.

Yaroslav at St Vincent's Place accommodation

My first friends here were people from other rooms in my block. On the first day we all were a bit shy because we had just moved in and were missing our homes. But after a few days we became really close; we spent time together, we went to Meadowhall to play some games and after a few weeks we became really close friends and we can share our thoughts, share our problems and do things together.

Accommodation Commitment

You are guaranteed accommodation for our Autumn intakes as long as you have received your confirmation letter from our admissions team by Midday on July 30th and applied using the instructions provided within your confirmation letter by Midday on August 2nd.

St Vincent's Place

Located in the heart of the city, near the main campus and next to the International College, St Vincent’s Place is our new University-managed development which incorporates a beautifully renovated church. The church is now a place to socialise, offering a café, cinema room, games and a shared kitchen. There is also a Residence Life Mentor to help you settle into life in the UK through organised social activities and student support.

We are offering flexible tenancy start dates for students starting their programme in September 2021 which means that you can check-in on any date between 11th September 2021 and 12th February 2022.

If you would like to arrive before Saturday 11th September in order to isolate or settle into your accommodation prior to Induction Week, you can do so for free* from 1st August 2021 until the official contract start date of the 11th September. You must email the CSS Team to book this option!

Please note: you can check-in after the above date however you will need to email the CSS Team to organise this at usic.css@studygroup.com.

The University will ask you (within your application) for your expected arrival date, and begin your contract on the Saturday after you arrive. For example: if you were to arrive and check into your room between Sunday the 12th of September and Saturday the 18th of September your contract would begin on Saturday the 18th of September 2021. Therefore, you would not pay any fees for the days between arriving and your official contract start date.

Arranging your own accommodation privately

If you are booking your own accommodation privately it is important that you let us know where you are staying.

Look out for fraud

Scammers may specifically target international students so it is important to be able to recognise common signs of fraudulent activity and know what to do if you come across it. Let us know at fraudreporting@studygroup.com if you have any concerns about fraudulent activity when dealing with a private accommodation provider so that we can help to protect you and other international students in case they are targeted in the same way.

Important information

All under 18s must live in University-managed accommodation. If you are younger than 18 years old when you start your programme you are guaranteed a room in University Managed Accommodation (subject to availability)
