Outstanding student performance
The University of Sheffield's excellent progression rate saw an incredible 100% of our students who travelled to Sheffield from Singapore progress to the University for their degree. A further 80% of our Korean students and 73% of our Chinese students also progressed directly to the University following their course at the International College.
One of our students, Siyue Wang, was awarded the China Merit Scholarship by the University of Sheffield. Siyue studied the International Foundation Year in Science and Engineering and plans to progress to study Civil Engineering. The China Merit Scholarship will provide Siyue with 50% off the annual tuition fee for the undergraduate programme. She said of her experience:
"The University of Sheffield International College is a really good place to study or to socialise. I was lucky enough to meet a number of very qualified and super nice teachers who provided huge help and support with my progression. To come here to study is the best decision I made. I have obtained not only useful academic learnings, but also some precious skills which may benefit for a lifelong time!"
Merit scholarships are regularly awarded to students from the International College in support of their dedication to academics and future goals. For the 2015-2016 academic year, over 20 scholarships were awarded to top performers from the International College, with five of those being prestigious merit scholarships.
